What problem were you facing when trying to achieve your health goal?
I was looking for something different to do. I wanted a program where I had interactivity with a coach, somebody who would hold me accountable to what I was doing.
How did Fitmate help you?
You are communicating with a coach. You can communicate as much or as little as you want. You can just wait for the actions or the questions about how your week has been or you can message during the week and say I am having a bad week, send a photo of what you’ve eaten for lunch or ask questions. With Fitmate, you can ask for feedback or positive reinforcement from a team of coaches. You can ask questions like “what do you think about these crackers?” or “Can I eat Halloumi?” and there is always somebody there at the end of the phone to give you a quick answer, so you feel reassured and get the answer you need.
What did you enjoy about your program?
It was a really good program, it helped me learn more about how to eat healthily and eat in a varied way. It was a much more intelligent approach to nutrition, fitness and health, which is what I had been looking for. Each week my coach would recommend a particular action that I should do, it could have been to eat more leafy greens or it could be to meditate which is something I was originally closed to, and became more open too. What was really good is that it didn’t feel like a fixed program. If an action didn’t fit into my upcoming schedule because I was going away or busy with work we would find an alternative. It was very flexible in that respect and it was very tailor made to me. You get encouragement and coach support that’s really different to the mainstream programs that are available on the high street.
What did Fitmate help you achieve?
I have lost 140lbs which is about 60 kilos and I am now getting encouragement on how to maintain that loss because I am close to my goal weight.
